Website Usability Reviews
A website usability review offers
an independent expert assessment of the experience of your website
users.
What is a usability review?
A website usability review is
carried out by a user-experience or usability expert. This is
the quickest and most cost-effective way to get quality
feedback, based not on opinion, but on validated research and
industry guidelines.
The aim is to provide rapid
feedback on the user-friendliness of your website. This can
help to determine where your website works (what is good) and
where it is likely to cause problems, confusion or frustration
in your users (what needs to be changed) and what should be
given priority if appropriate.
Why should I have a website
usability review?
Good website usability is
necessary for the survival of your organisation or business.
Website Users – those people who might be your current or future
customers - will simply leave if:
-
Your website is difficult to
use in any way
-
The navigation is confusing,
or users get lost, if they don’t know where they are or
where they’ve been
-
The homepage fails to clearly
and quickly communicate what a website offers or what users
can do on the site and how to do it
-
The information is hard to
find or read, or if key questions are unanswered
-
And a whole variety of other
issues…
Research
shows that the cost to users in taking time to ‘figure
things out’ is simply too high, leaving is the first thing
that users do when they encounter a difficulty.
What results can I expect?
A review is the quickest, most
cost-effective and usually the most practical approach to
improving usability.
Why can't I do this myself?
The fact
that it is independent is crucial to success, most importantly
it is objective, the viewpoint and observation who is free from
preconceptions or bias, this can only derive from someone who is
not part of the company or website development project.
Our unbiased, external reporting
is not based on opinion, but on valid, justifiable standards,
research, observations and heuristics. It is based on standards,
both broader and more detailed expertise and experience,
We are not involved in internal
politics, or who decided on what feature or design debates that
may have happened in the past. We are only interested in your
website, and how it works for your business, specifically how it
presents your business to your users (customers) and how easy it
is for your customers to engage with your business through your
website.
