This is a practical workshop to assist you in providing suitable instructions and ongoing communication and support to your web developer – whether externally contracted or an in-house individual/department - to achieve an effective web site that will benefit your business. It will also raise and resolve a variety of issues that contribute to the successful planning of your organisation’s Web site.

This course will give you the knowledge and tools that are needed to communicate effectively with the web developer or designer: the language and the processes involved.  Using a Web site design brief will help you remain in control of the project and the developer will have a clear set of parameters to help them produce and publish a web site that will achieve the objectives you have set.

  • Identify the objectives of the Web site

  • Understand and define the technology requirements for the web site

  • Identify the profile of the intended audience of the web site

  • Gain a greater understanding of your competitors activities and strategies

  • Plan for appropriate contracted services: hosting, design and development

  • Develop and map a hierarchical navigation specification

  • Ensure that Copyright issues are taken into consideration

  • Gain an awareness of accessibility issues relating to the web site

  • Be aware of relevant Legislation: Terms and conditions, contract etc

  • Project manage the development of the web site including budgets and timescales

It is not assumed that the delegates have any prior knowledge of website development or internet marketing, but will have used the internet and be familiar with their company or organisations function.  Delegates would benefit with being familiar with details of the objectives and requirements of the planned website although this is not essential.

All workshops are currently charged at £950 per day.  This is an inclusive price for up to 12 delegates at the clients premises or venue. Discounts may apply to qualifying situations.

Travelling and any necessary accommodation expenses are charged at cost.  If required we can arrange a venue for the workshop at a location convenient to you, this is charged at cost plus a 20% administration fee.
