This full-day workshop will help you to understand how YOUR website should be working for your business or organisation and enable you to take action in effective online and offline promotion, driving visitors to your website.

Note that this is not another workshop for the technologically inclined or initiated, this is about business, YOUR business and how to get the best return on your investment of resources.   Delivered in a straightforward way, using non-technical language, full of insights and real-world observations, practical techniques and actionable strategies.

Who should attend?

This workshop is for businesses or organisations who:

  • Are planning to develop and implement a website  OR

  • Have an existing Web site that is not performing to their expectations.

Essential Learning for:

  • Business owners and directors including new business owners or those in ‘start-up’

  • Sales or marketing managers or those who wish to improve their focus on the internet for business

  • Those responsible for the development and/or management of a web site for their business or organisation

Also useful for:

  • Web designers who may be new to the industry; have little or no experience in business; or need to up-skill on website promotion.

 Workshop Aims

These sessions aim to enlighten and empower the delegate to get the best from an existing or planned website in a straightforward non-technical way. Covering a range of promotional techniques these sessions provides an overview of website promotion from the viewpoint of the business and its customers.

Objectives – what you will learn in this workshop
Delegates will understand, gain insights into, or be able to prepare:

  • Website promotion, what’s it all about

  • What you need to know and do before promoting your website

  • Search engines: getting listed and getting to the top

  • Building an effective network of inbound links

  • Online directories for greater exposure – Cost v Value

  • Online PR - getting your message out to your customers through news releases and articles

  • Social networking and forum boards; blogging – what is it and should you do it

  • Email marketing: contacts and copy, staying legal, avoiding the spam trap.

  • Google Adwords and Pay per click programmes.

  • Banner advertising – is it right for your business

  • Offline promotion, driving traffic to the website

  • Where to start – action planning for ROI

Prerequisites – what skills or experience should you already possess

It is not assumed that the delegates have any prior knowledge of website development or internet marketing, but will have used the internet and be familiar with their company’s or organisation’s function.

Delegates will benefit from having attended an introductory or overview course: ‘Internet Marketing How to get a website that works for your business’, or ‘Planning for the development of your new business website’.  However this is not essential.

Format – what type of course?

This course is normally delivered as a full day workshop (usually 9.30am to 4.30pm including breaks) to small groups (max 20). There will be lots of opportunities to discuss, question and share experiences as well as some practical activities.

Location – where is the course held?

These sessions are delivered on a regular basis at our premises to small groups, (we limit the courses to 6 delegates at our premises so you have the advantage of learning in a small group), or they can be presented at any suitable venue convenient to you if you require a private session for your business or organisation.
